Since machine instructions are not so easily identifiable to people a symbolic representation of each instruction can be made in the form of an op code or assembler code. for example a instruction that represents an add can be called add rather than the numeric value of the machine code. see"

The symbolic codes written by the programmer are interpreted by the system software's, either the Interpreter or Compiler, to produce the machine instructions."
